Why do you have to heat the knife? I don't have to heat the knife when I use Breakfree CLP. It is a synthetic and won't gum so maybe that's the difference between it and Miltec. MILITEC-1 has a very low evaporation rate and will not dry out and "disappear" like MilSpec CLP. Firearms remain properly lubricated for a much longer period of time. In fact, MILITEC-1-treated firearms can even be taken out of extended storage and fired immediately with pelo additional care.
